The old adage that businesses don't plan to fail they fail to plan is just as true with online businesses as it is
with conventional ones. Most people that are new to running an online business feel the need to be flexible
and therefore do not put a plan in place to make certain that their business is growing. In doing so they fail to
reach their full potential. If this is you, and you're struggling then the good news is that it's never too late to
try something new.
What scares a lot of online business entrepreneurs off is that the whole idea of doing a business plan or a
business strategy or action plan, whatever you want to call it, is a complicated endeavor. Or so it seems. If
you are looking in the direction of big business as a guide then it will seem complicated. What you need is a
plan that you can follow easily; one that pushes you, and yet still seems achievable in both the short and long
term. The key is to have your own plan, because only you know what your strengths and weaknesses are.
Only you know all the methods that you wish to use. If you use somebody else's business strategy then you
will find it harder to keep up the motivation.
A business strategy can be broken down into a simple formula:
How you want to earn money, plus how much you want to earn, divided by the weeks or workdays in a
year.
It seems too simple, doesn't it? The fact of the matter is if you were, say, affiliate marketing, then there are a
variety of ways you can do it. By outlining the methods you want to use, you are getting a clearer vision.
That doesn't mean you can't be adventurous and try new methods, but you need the foundation so you won't
diversify too far too fast. If you don't know how much you wish to earn then you won't have anything you
can measure the success of your methods by, so that you know for sure if you need to change tactics. This
method gives you measurable results and it means you are working a plan. even better, you are working
your plan.
