When starting a home based business there are many things to take into consideration. The first thing you will
need to do is think of a domain name for you website. I know that a lot of domains have already been taken
and sometimes it can be very frustrating trying to find one that will work for you. I remember when I first
started off I would sit in front of the computer and type in the different domain names that I was going to use
for my home based business only to be disappointed because I must have went through 20+ domain names
or better before finding one that really suited me. I would not get discouraged over this because in my
opinion the more you concentrate on the domain name you plan on using chances are you will eventually
think of something better. Write them down on a sheet of paper as they come into your head and even ask
you family and friends because this will be the name that you will be stuck with for as long as your in
business.
Secondly, the importance of a good domain name is going to be the difference between (in my humble
opinion) whether you will succeed or not because it is the base of your entire business and it is also your
image. I have read many of articles that will try to explain to you that you need to think of something catchy
so people will remember it for days to come and possibly tell their friends about it. I know when I first
started off I scrambled my brains for a name and came up with the one I have and since then I have thought
of other domain names but I was too far into my home based business that it was a little to late to change it.
One thing I recommend to you is to type in the keywords on Google "free keyword suggestion tool" and you
will see listed either in the first or second position Google's website named Google Adword: Keyword Tool.
You should then begin your search for a domain name that will suit your home based business needs. The
reason why I say this is because you need to enter a keyword to look up like "Home Based Business" or
"Home Based Business Opportunity". Google will return about 50-60 results showing the keyword you
typed in plus additional keywords that are very similar to the one you typed in. Google will also show you
how many times that keyword has been typed in by other user across the interent and chances are if you find
a keyword you like and try to use it as a domain name that is showing plenty of people searching it then
chances are your website will have great success. I highly recommend doing this when looking for a domain
name. If I had to do a domain name search again for my home based business I would have definitely
followed these procedures (had I known in the beginning). So please take my advice when it comes to this. I
would not steer you wrong. You can count on me doing this when I build my second website.
